We’re on a mission to simplify the integration of Factory Track with ERP LN. This process has been challenging and time-consuming—just adding a field from ERP system to a BarTender report can take a day!

To tackle this, we’re developing a web service for ERP LN that will utilize libraries and XML data via SOAP requests. This will allow direct library calls while ensuring security through whitelisting and a verification function.

Our approach streamlines implementation for individuals managing both systems, avoiding unnecessary complexity. Plus, since Factory Track is built on the Mongoose platform, we aim to make this solution available across Mongoose and potentially other platforms.

Interested in collaborating? Join us as we innovate! (Note: the group name may change.)

We are preferable looking for people having knowledge in c4ws, infor ERP LN, Factory Track or Mongoose, or whichever application you see having an advantage for this feature.
I already have knowledge in ERP LN, Factory Track, c4ws and some more.

Yes I'd like to join this. Agree that Mongoose extending is not very user friendly. I have an already working Label-extension solution proposal operational at some customers. It is still under development with me and could serve as a base for here. I'm not using webservices in here, but a single custom dll that produces parameter-driven output files (.dd-files) identical to standard Factory Track into Bartender. Also I have raised some development ideas at InterForm, the preferred label-software for Automotive Exchange and Supplier Exchange.

    Hi!

I already sent the proposal for project already yesterday, as it would have been overdue by now. I already asked: You can still join.

However, I think you should now that we want to write something in Mongoose to have a higher reusability. The focus of this project will be to have a good web service for LN. If you think you can do a good work on mongoose side I'd welcome you.

Just send a request to join, or let me know so I invite you.

Thank you Christian, I have done some Mongoose development before, in particular for Label-interface enrichment. Also I'm a member of the Infor FT Field Enablement team and can share some insights from there. I have no idea how to request for a join to your team, but would love be part of this, to compare it against my alternative. Maybe an idea to at least have a look at the already developed LN-solution? To be honest, it is more generic to have it from LN instead of Factory Track, as FT is just a portal to trigger updates in LN. As the customer has the last word, it would be good have a webservice as alternative. I also would be interested to have an interface by the REST-API, as in Bartender this is already supported, but I simply have no experience with this. Suggest we have a teams-call tomorrow?

    Hi christian !

The subject is interesting! Can I join as well? Although I’m not yet familiar with Infor products, I’m eager to learn and expand my skill set.

We actually developed a sort of dynamic query BDE with fetching possibilities that we actually used also as input for a Java Spring back end that convert it into Json Rest API (for widgets). May be we can share some ideas about that in case.
