Calling All Solo Innovators: Let's Form Dream Teams!

Hello all -
My name is Chris and I am head of technical consulting for StarPoint Technologies, an analytics, reporting, and data warehousing partner for Infor. We've been Infor Birst partners for over 10 years (prior to the acquisition) and I have worked with the platform since the beginning.
I also have a software development background and am able to code in a variety of programming and scripting languages. Most recently I've been using the Infor API gateway to interface with Infor apps such as the Data Lake.
I've also worked with all of the Infor ERPs and have familiarity with their workings and how they behave as far as their data is concerned.
It's great to be here and I look forward to helping out where I can! If there is a data visualization, number crunching, or related need for one of these ideas then I bet I lend a hand.

@AbiFranklin - It would very likely be a bit different than creating extensions in WebUI. There are docs on it for future reference (link below) but I would say your JavaScript experience would be handy for creating something in Birst or using Birst within something else.

Hi @Vismay_Gajera,
… I'm mostly working with Birst recently so you're my man 😊. Please have a look above at a few ideas exchanged with @AbiFranklin and @Brandon Watson.
I'm also an Individual here and looking for a team.
Thanks,
Enrico

Hi @chris_hunt,
To my understanding, that is for creating custom widgets from scratch, am I right? But what if one wants to interact with a Visualizer widget and introduce further functionalities, like as I mentioned an automatic column resizing? (That would be great in Visualizer itself.) Do you think there may be any way to do this or such a thing would be an Enhancement Request to Birst development?
Thanks!
Enrico

Hi @Enrico Menotti,
Don't we have to use Infor OS to build any solution for the problem ? Updating feature in Birst (Visualizer) is not part of this hackathon. I think we have to come up with a problem and try to solve it using Infor OS and its services. Let me know if you think otherwise.Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks,
Vismay Gajera

It would be a product update to the platform, to answer your question. Vizualizer isn't a library that can be used an extended. There's a sort of enhanced replacement for it made by Agile Dragon on the marketplace to make the experience more Excel-like and flexible for tabular reporting.

Agreed.

So that takes that off the table. Sounds like there is a lot of support to be had out there, but not many project ideas. @JoyBhosale you mentioned one? Anyone else?

Hi everyone! I’m Atharv Nakti, a passionate software developer with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from SPPU. I have hands-on experience in Java, Python, SQL, Bash, HTML, JavaScript, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Over the years, I've worked on a diverse set of projects, from building secure communication systems using blockchain and cryptography, to deploying full-stack web applications on AWS EKS with CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions.
💡 Some of the key projects I’ve worked on:
- AnimeFlix – A Netflix clone for anime using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Amazon and Spotify Clones – Frontend replicas developed to sharpen my UI/UX skills.
- IoT-based Accident Prevention System – An IoT solution designed to improve road safety around school zones.
- Generative AI Applications – Deployed using Google Cloud, integrating AI models with practical applications.
My expertise lies in full-stack development, cloud computing, blockchain, machine learning, and IoT. I thrive in fast-paced, problem-solving environments and enjoy collaborating with like-minded individuals.
For the Infor Hackathon, I’m looking to connect with other passionate developers, designers, and problem-solvers who are eager to create something innovative. If you’re looking for a team member or are interested in forming a team together, let’s connect! I’m confident we can bring great ideas to life!
Feel free to DM me if you're interested. Let’s make this hackathon an unforgettable experience! 💻🔥

… well, if it's strictly OS then you're right I guess. I was assuming all of the Infor ecosystem would be acceptable.
A topic which I think revolves more around OS, although still is based upon Birst, is how to create live connections to LN (or any other ERP from the Infor portfolio).

Just jumping to clarify that the scope of the Hackathon is "Projects built with or integrated with Infor OS Platform products". Moreover, Birst is in fact part of Infor OS Platform 🙂

@AbiFranklin This puts that back on the table!

Very cool! Just also want to double check because the thought crossed my mind …. what time zone are you in. I think figuring out what team I ultimately end up on is going to have to factor in time zone.

Hi @D.S. Sharma @JoyBhosale , I'm interested in joining this project, please consider. reach me at santhoshkumar@vince.no.
Thanks.

Yeah that's something to consider indeed. I'm located in Italy, which is CET: UTC + 1 + DST.

I'm in UTC-5 here in Houston. 6 hours shouldn't be too bad. I'm trying to decide between 2 projects. The other would probably be a better fit for where my company is headed, but I know the team is much larger and I believe there's a bigger time zone difference between me and the rest of the team. @JoyBhosale where is the rest of your team located?
0 -
@AbiFranklin i am in CET time zone , Sufiyan is in EST timezone .
0 -
Ok @Enrico Menotti since @JoyBhosale and Sufiyan are closer to me in time zones (collectively) and their project is closer o what I may work on down the road, I think I'm going to go with them, but feel free to reach out after the hackathon if you want to collaborate on some development then.

Right @AbiFranklin, that's fine. I am more oriented towards things that regard data analysis, I am specifically using Birst at the moment (as you already know) but any project headed towards data integration amongst the various parts of the Infor OS (and possibly including external systems) would be of interest for me (and my company).
→ That means I'm currently without any group. 😐️ If anybody wants me onboard…

Hi @Jaydeep, I've a similar experience like you mentioned and looking forward to learn more on Infor BE and build the solutions around it. Open to join the team if you have any idea.
1 -
Hi @Santhosh.Kumar_R Sure, Lets connect. I have not thought of any idea, But we could take some help from business consultant for it. Lets connect and create team if that is okay. As I understood today (10th October) is last day to create team. If we fail to do that Infor Hackathon team will assign team to individual memeber like us.
1 -
Sounds good! Let's connect and form a team.
