Welcome to the Inforian Internal track of the Infor Community Hackathon 2025!
The Infor Community Hackathon truly is a One Infor event!
First, this is a global virtual event. The hackathon invites participation of Infor's over 60,000 customers, 2,000 partners and 17,000 employees in over 175 countries.
This is the first year that we are including an Internal track on the Community Hackathon. As a leading software company, Infor has a tradition of successful internal hackathons. This event, as a community hackathon, will be the first time that we afford our customers and partners visibility into how our teams, in a hackathon environment, create the innovative products that they all rely on.
This page is a roadmap of the path to success for the eventual winners of this year's Internal track. However, the hackathon offers value for all Inforians, even beyond those that form a team, submit a proposal and are ultimately selected by our executive judges as winners.
Learn
Core to the event are the teams that compete in building compelling solutions. However there are insights and opportunities available for all Inforians. First, take a look at what a hackathon is. A great starting place is to review videos submitted by last year's top 10 finalists and winners here. Last year's projects offer insights for all Infor personnel including development, sales, marketing, enablement and support about how customers and partners use Infor's products. In reviewing last year's projects, please keep in mind that last year's hackathon only allowed teams nine calendar days for building their solutions!
Also, for any Inforian who wants to upskill on the Infor OS Platform technologies, the hackathon offers self-service learning paths at Infor U that you can follow free of having to commit to submitting a hackathon proposal.
Mentor
Beyond competing in the hackathon, a unique value for teams competing is that each is assigned an Infor mentor. We are actively looking for Inforians with strong skills with the Infor OS Platform to serve as mentors. This role is most heavily involved during the build phase in July and August. Mentoring, versus actually forming a team and competing, offers deep engagement, however with a much lower time commitment. If you are interested in being a mentor, please search Infor's internal SharePoint for hackathon 2025 mentor for details.
Compete
For those that want the deep engagement of competing, the first step is forming your team and submitting a proposal of what you will build on or before June 1st. What your team chooses to propose is left to your discretion. All teams whose proposals are selected will move on to the build phase. All teams in the build phase are provided Infor tenants provisioned with whatever Infor software they require, as specified in their proposal. Due to resource constraints only a limited number of teams can pass through into the build phase. So please, along with your teammates, take the time to put your best effort into submitting a top tier proposal. For individuals who might like to be a mentor if your team is not selected for the build phase, please also submit a mentor interest form as early as possible.
Throughout the hackathon, all three tracks will work side-by-side and have access to the same resources. There are, however, two primary differences between each track. First, judging will be track specific. Thus, teams competing in the Internal track will be judged only against other Internal track teams. The same for the customer track and the partner track. Second, the Internal track has an additional challenge category: building Value+ solutions for the Velocity Suite catalogue. Though only Internal teams may submit proposals to build Velocity Suite catalogue solutions, [AM1] it will be great for customer and partner track teams working alongside internal track teams to gain a greater understanding of Velocity Suite.
For details on all challenge categories, see the event FAQs under the question "What kind of projects can we build?" Regardless of which challenge category you target with your proposal, please note that the "Adoption Pathway" is an important criteria you will need to state in your proposal. That is, how do you envision the solution being adopted after the hackathon? For example, for proposals targeting the Velocity Suite catalogue, adoption would be your finished solution being accepted for the catalogue. For teams new to building Velocity Suite catalogue solutions, training and mentoring during the build phase will provide guidance on this process.
Further, for teams that might like to submit proposals to build Velocity Suite catalogue solutions, the Velocity Suite team maintains a list of already scoped use cases that can be reviewed and optionally selected for development.
Thank you for your interest in the Infor Community Hackathon 2025. For those that do submit proposals, we look forward to your showcasing how possible happens with Infor!
