Hi,

I would like to personalize the email that will be sent to the recipient of an M3 print.
I have configured all the different elements upstream in M3 and IDM to choose the right email template.
All this works correctly.

However, in the body of the email, I run into a problem when I want to generate a hypertext link whithin the word plugin.

The problem occurs when I want to concatenate several variables for buiding a dynamic URL. (For example this following string: https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166: US”)

It seems that the concatenation function in the Plugin does not support the use of special characters like / ; % ….

But it is impossible to not use those characters if you have to build a dynamic URL.

Have you some ideas to get around this problem ?

Hello Marette - Do you even need to use the concantenation? I tried building the URL with 3 different nodes and just added them to my doc. When I generate the PDF, I am able to click on the URL, as it seems to automatically turn it into a Hyperlink. I was able to do this with the Email template as well (last screenshot). I just simply made the color of the text blue and underlined it, to make it look like a Hyperlink.

Indeed, it's as simple as that ....
I'd also come to the conclusion that I'd have to try and assume that my XML file contains the beginning of my hypertext link.
Which you finally did.
Then I thought I'd see how to concatenate the fields in my XML rather than trying to concatenate variables.
And what you've done is a kind of concatenation :)

However, if I want to use the same technique with variables, it still doesn't work. 🤔

For it to work, I've also noticed that the fields have to be value type None rather than Hyperlink, contrary to what you might think intuitively ?

I hope this tip will be useful to others.
