ADR Raw Source to Use in Other Spaces (What is the best approach?)

I have 2 spaces named Source (where the extraction occurs) and the Dimension.
Let's say I have an ADR Raw Source named M3_OCUSMA_Extract, should I wrap it first in a scripted source (named M3_Customer) and import it to the Dimension space via Package? Or M3_OCUSMA_Extract will suffice?
I had issues when modifying the existing extract (e.g. adding a new field) and reusing the extract (M3_OCUSMA_Extract) to the dimension space, the added field can't be detected even after running the extract group.

Yes, it is best practice to always create a Scripted Source for raw data source. Hierarchy and measure creation should never be associated to the raw data source.
The package needs to include the raw data source along with the Scripted Source but check the hide for the raw data source object as it is needed for reference by the Birst engine and doesn’t have to be visible in the child space.
