Newbie - Tutorial, documentation on synchronising data from CSD

Hi

I've been using CSD for a while now, and have started to look into using Mongoose in more detail. One flow I'm struggling with is how to keep data in sync.

For example, I'm creating a new Product Development Form with components.

I create a product in this form and at some time I'll push it to CSD to create an iscp record and icsw record and kpsc records, now lets say a user makes changes to any of those records how do I ensure that they get published back?

I figure it's something to do with replication, but can't get my head round it, also the standard BODs that get published only get triggered by some events, eg changing a versions components doesn't trigger anything.

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be very helpful - or I'm thinking about this all wrong!!

Hello Richard - Have you thought about using API's instead of BODs? You can call API's when the form opens to fill-in the data and then call API's to make the updates. I believe this would be a lot more straightforward. Otherwise, you would have to send the product BOD's to Mongoose and ingest them there and do something with them. You are right, it is around Replication, if you wanted to go this route. The documentation has some helpful things on how to do this. Infor also has a 3-part YouTube series for the BOD Integration. This video is very old and was recorded with Mongoose on-prem I believe, but it has the basics of things. We have done many Mongoose projects and work with CSD a lot, feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

I would also ask if you thought about using an extension, instead of Mongoose, for this project?

Hi Brandon

Yes, we've been using extensions to cover quite a lot, however, thought it about time to delve a bit deeper into Mongoose and it's capabilities and this seemed a good project to start with as several products in development never reach CSD.

I'll have a deep dive into Apis rather than replication.
